Alicia C., yoga teacher at Flow Yoga

Alicia C.

Alicia Michelle is a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher with over 11 years of teaching experience, offering trauma-informed classes for beginners and intermediate practitioners. While trained in many styles of yoga, her heart is drawn to slow, deep, intentional practices.

Her teaching extends beyond physical postures, weaving yogic philosophy into everyday life and inviting people to carry the practice off the mat and into their relationships, choices, and communities. A lifelong movement enthusiast, Alicia has guided everything from yoga classes and ecstatic dance journeys to introductory shamanic teachings, embracing the belief that life itself is both a ceremony and a yogic journey.

Her path has taken her from teaching on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to supporting individuals in residential trauma and addiction recovery centers, and throughout Central America leading retreats and community experiences. Her first yoga classes were with U.S. Marines, an experience that helped cultivate skills for working with PTSD, trauma, and a wide range of life challenges.

Having experienced the transformative power of yoga firsthand, Alicia understands its ability to reconnect us with ourselves and with one another. Yoga quite literally changed her life, and she brings that gratitude into every class she teaches. Those who practice with her often describe her offerings as authentic, grounded, meaningful, and refreshingly real.

A perpetual student of life, Alicia believes yoga is unique to each individual while being most powerful when shared in community. She teaches movement as prayer and sovereignty, encouraging people to trust their own inner wisdom, embrace their humanity, and remember the sacredness woven through everyday life.
